Recondition and Refurbished of FFR Box

Commencement of Project: Sept 2016
Completion Deadline: 3 weeks leadtime

The Plot:

The main purpose of this project is to recondition the external and internal of the FFR box with a fresh layer of appointed paint color. In addition, we are also required to refurbish the FFR box by imprinting readable text and layout of circuitry on all the sides of the FFR box for the end user to lay the electrical and electronic components. The antenna box is also part of the device to protect the electrical and electronics components during mission or exercise under all weather conditions.

The recondition of the external and internal of the antenna box was no easy task. The removal of existing paint work is one of the most challenging job. If the existing bit or piece of paint is not properly and thoroughly cleaned off, the new paint coat will peel off easily. The removal and cleansing of existing paint required great patience and sheer perseverance.

After the removal and cleansing of the existing paint work, it will required to add at least 2 layer of coats to firmly secure the paint coat onto the FFR Box which take a day or so. During the spray painting process, the spray booth have to kept clean and in a closed environment which is free from dust and dirt particles. Any of these will hindrance on the outcome of the paint surface. In severity case where paint surface is deemed unacceptable, the skill professional have to repeat the process from the beginning.

When the paint coat is fully dry, the skill professional will start to imprint the readable text and layout of the circuitry onto all the sides of the FFR box. Due to the nature of trade secret, we are unable to divuluge more about the process of imprinting. The imprinting of the readable text and the layout of circuitry onto the FFR Box was a big challenge, the FFR box was designed in a way that all sides of the FFR Box was slightly tilted inwards, like an ice cone. Extra care and measure have to be taken care of when imprinting the readable text and circuitry onto the it. Otherwise, smudging will occurs.
